Audio Issues
Can't hear them or they can't hear you? Start here.
Quick Fixes
- Refresh the page
- Check volume (system and browser)
- Use headphones
- Close other apps using your mic
Can't Hear Them
Check speakers:
- System volume not muted
- Browser tab not muted (look for speaker icon)
- Correct output device selected
- Test audio on YouTube
Try:
- Different browser (Chrome works best)
- Clear cache
- Disable extensions
They Can't Hear You
Check mic:
- Plugged in?
- Selected as input device?
- Hardware mute off?
Test mic:
- Open system sound settings
- Find your microphone
- Speak and watch the level
- No movement = mic not working
Browser permissions:
- Click lock icon in address bar
- Set Microphone to "Allow"
- Refresh
Echo or Feedback
- Use headphones (best fix)
- Lower speaker volume
- Move away from speakers
- Mute when not talking
Audio Cuts Out
Network issue:
- Use WiFi or wired (not mobile data)
- Move closer to router
- Close streaming apps
- Restart router
Crackling or Static
Try:
- Different headphones
- Wired connection
- Different browser
One-Way Audio
You hear them but not vice versa (or opposite):
- Check firewall settings
- Try different network
- Disable VPN
- Check browser permissions
Delay
- Close other tabs
- Check speed (need 1 Mbps+)
- Use wired connection
- Try different time (less congestion)
Browser Fixes
Chrome:chrome://settings/content/microphone → allow callerbooth.com
Firefox: Click shield icon → check permissions
Safari: Safari → Preferences → Websites → Microphone → Allow
Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Microphone → Allow
