Audio Issues

Can't hear them or they can't hear you? Start here.

Quick Fixes

  1. Refresh the page
  2. Check volume (system and browser)
  3. Use headphones
  4. Close other apps using your mic

Can't Hear Them

Check speakers:

  • System volume not muted
  • Browser tab not muted (look for speaker icon)
  • Correct output device selected
  • Test audio on YouTube

Try:

  • Different browser (Chrome works best)
  • Clear cache
  • Disable extensions

They Can't Hear You

Check mic:

  • Plugged in?
  • Selected as input device?
  • Hardware mute off?

Test mic:

  1. Open system sound settings
  2. Find your microphone
  3. Speak and watch the level
  4. No movement = mic not working

Browser permissions:

  1. Click lock icon in address bar
  2. Set Microphone to "Allow"
  3. Refresh

Echo or Feedback

  1. Use headphones (best fix)
  2. Lower speaker volume
  3. Move away from speakers
  4. Mute when not talking

Audio Cuts Out

Network issue:

  1. Use WiFi or wired (not mobile data)
  2. Move closer to router
  3. Close streaming apps
  4. Restart router

Crackling or Static

Try:

  1. Different headphones
  2. Wired connection
  3. Different browser

One-Way Audio

You hear them but not vice versa (or opposite):

  1. Check firewall settings
  2. Try different network
  3. Disable VPN
  4. Check browser permissions

Delay

  1. Close other tabs
  2. Check speed (need 1 Mbps+)
  3. Use wired connection
  4. Try different time (less congestion)

Browser Fixes

Chrome:chrome://settings/content/microphone → allow callerbooth.com

Firefox: Click shield icon → check permissions

Safari: Safari → Preferences → Websites → Microphone → Allow

Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Microphone → Allow
